Peter Harris was admitted to practice law in 1981 and has been with Ilberys since 1986. He most enjoys socially relevant legal work.
Peter decided to become a lawyer because of his love for the English language – he is Welsh, and he’s still obsessed with it! Other passions include literature, history, economics and geopolitics, so the top of his bucket list is to see the D-Day Beaches in Normandy.
Peter’s other passion is football – A.K.A soccer – having played and coached the game for over 30 years. He says the best piece of advice he’s ever received was that ‘it’s how you play when you’re losing that really matters’. Told to him when he was 18 by the best football player he’s ever played with, Peter maintains today that it’s not only true of football but of life.

Michael previously worked as a paralegal with Legal Aid and as a sessional tutor at Curtin University Business School before joining Ilberys, where he’s been for just over 10 years. He decided to become a lawyer at the age of 15 after experiencing his parents’ divorce – neither he nor his parents found clarity in the law, so Michael decided to study law to help others make sense of it all.
His favourite part about his job is investigation and problem-solving, and his favourite part of life outside of his job is cycling and travelling with his wife and two dogs. The top of his bucket list is to hike Machu Picchu. The best piece of advice Michael was ever given was to ‘Compliment people behind their backs’, and it’s held him in good stead ever since.
Yatiksha has worked with Ilberys successively as a Legal Administrative Assistant, an Articled Clerk and a Lawyer since 2011. Yatiksha specialises in workers’ claims, negligence, motor vehicle accidents, criminal injuries, abuse, public liabilities and third-party claims. Yatiksha most enjoys working to resolve matters that are complex and stressful.
At home, Yatiksha most enjoys socialising with friends and family – but at work, she enjoys helping people seek justice.
